A ‘League of Young Voters’ is being launched by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and the National Youth Council, with the support of the European Parliament Office in Malta. The initiative targets young people’s concerns and expectations in the run-up to European elections
The initiative is a pan-European movement conceived by young people for young people in order to foster awareness on what direction Europe and its decision-makers ought to take. A number of youth ambassadors engaged in this project have already expressed their views on a number of key issues such as youth mobility programmes, voting eligibility from 16 years up, and fostering entrepreneurial spirit amongst youths.
The launch of the LYV is being held on Saturday 8th March at Europe House. This will be the first of a series of events until May. The Hon. Dr. Stefan Buontempo, Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport, will be opening the event in which youths will have the opportunity to meet MEP candidates and to explore ways how to contribute in the information campaign being conducted locally.
The launch will start at 9:45am and a reception will be held afterwards.
