Unofficial results of the MEP elections in Malta indicate a Labour Party win of just over 53 per cent with the Nationalist Party winning 40%, Alternattiva Demokratika getting 3.5% and the others 3.5%.

Speaking shortly after the first indications were out, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said: “It is a humbling result, I am very grateful to the vote of confidence and encouragement, we have won by a big majority. Thank you to all.” Opposition and PN leader Simon Busuttil called Dr Muscat to congratulate him.
