The Gozo Committee for National and Regional Celebrations within the Ministry for Gozo, will again be organizing Carnival in Gozo through a programme spread over ten days.  The Gozo Regional Carnival 2009 will kick off in Victoria on Saturday 14th February with activities running up to Tuesday 24th February.

The activities will start on February 14 with the official start with a Grand Defile from Savina Square through Republic Street up to Kennedy Square in Victoria at 1830 CET followed with a dancing competition.

On Sunday 15, the carnivals in Gharb will be held at 1600 CET

Monday 16 and Wednsesday 18, respectively, will see the inaguaration of a photographic exhibition by Mike Wong Beresford at the Banca Giuratale in Indpendence Square Victoria and the Maskarat tini perlina at the Cittadella Centre for Culture and the Arts.

The Kercem and Nadur Carnival will be held on Thursday 19.

‘Mit-Tfal għat-Tfal’   – Carnival defilè with the participation of dancing groups from Gozitan schools along Republic Street, followed by a show in Independence Square, Victoria, will be held on Friday 20; while the Children Regional Carnival will be held in Independence Square, Victoria on the same day.

The Xewkija Carnival and San Lawrenz Carnial will be held on Saturday 21 together with the Children’s Regional Carnival at Independence Square, Victoria.

The Munxar Carnival and the Gozo Regional Carnival will be held on the following day.

The Zebbug, Qala and Sannat Carnivals will be held on Monday 23.

The closing celebrations of the Gozo Regional Carnival with a grand defilè followed by dance competitions and a Grand Finale at Independence Square, Victoria, on Tuesday 24 at 1900 CET
