A young salesgirl was held up in a Zebbug confectionary on Friday evening, the police said.

One armed and hooded person entered the shop at around 1900 CET and demanded cash.  The girl handed over some 300 euros and then the robber escaped. The girl was not harmed.

The duty magistrate ordered and inquiry. Police are investigating.
