Employees of a gaming shop in Valley Road, Birkirkara were held up by armed and hooded men shortly before 0200CEST on Tuesday.

According to a police statement, the thieves, one of whom was carrying a firearm, ran away with around €7,000 in cash.

An inquiry is being led by Magistrate Lawrence Quintano while police investigations continue.
