Over 200 Maltese people met Chiara, the Maltese Eurovision Song contestant, during an activity which was organised in her honour by the Embassy of Malta in Brussels last Friday 17 April 2009. Chiara was on tour in Belgium and the Netherlands promoting her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Moscow, Russia next May.

The event received important attention from the Belgian media. Crews from the Flemish National Television and from Eurovision TV attended the event and gave extensive coverage to Chiara.

This activity which took place at Dar Malta was made possible with the valued assistance of the Cultural Diplomacy Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta and with the kindness of Air Malta, Emmanuel Delicata Winemaker, Tal-Furnar, Kinnie, Cisk, Malta Dairy Products Ltd., Busy Bee Caterers, Osborne Caterers and James Caterers. Thanks to the generosity of these sponsors, the Maltese Community in Brussels and Luxembourg present at the event could enjoy products and tastes from back ‘home’.
