HSBC recognises Maltese journalists’ contribution to society
HSBC Bank Malta is sponsoring the print journalism – news award category of the 19th Malta Journalism Awards (MJA), organised by the Institute of Maltese Journalists (IGM). This category rewards journalists who during the previous year have endeavoured to produce the best news items specifically for newspapers and magazines.
“HSBC’s sponsorship of what is considered to be the premiere category of the Malta Journalism Awards recognises, in a tangible manner, the significant and valid contribution that Maltese journalists give on a daily basis to Maltese society,” said HSBC Malta’s Head of Marketing, Mr Brian Tortell.
“Over the last 20 years, the Institute of Maltese Journalists has continuously striven to nurture higher standards and ethical journalism in Malta. Ethics, education and professionalization are IGM’s three main priorities. The Malta Journalism Awards, today in its 19th edition, is the best showcase of the standards of Maltese journalism,” said IGM Chairman Mr Malcolm J Naudi.
The three finalists in the print journalism – news category are Ariadne Massa (The Times), Victor Vella (It-Torca) and Charlot Zahra (Malta Today).
