Motorcyclist dies in traffic accident
A 30-year-old motorcyclist from Santa Venera resident in Gozo lost his life on Friday afternoon after he was involved in a collision with a van in Marsascala Road, Zabbar. The police were informed of the accident at around 13:00CET.
The victim was born in Britain but had a Maltese nationality. The van was being driven by a 26-year-old man from Marsascala.
The police said preliminary investigations established that after the crash, the motorcyclist was dragged under a car driven by a 34-year-old woman from Kalkara.
No one else was injured in the accident.
He died in the ambulance on the way to Mater Dei Hospital.
Magistrate Silvio Meli was informed of the case and several experts were appointed to assist in the inquiry. Further police investigations are underway.
