Red carpet treatment for Chiara in Moscow
The three-times Maltese Eurovision artist, Chiara has been kept busy attending parties organised by several of the other participant countries.
On Sunday night, Chiara was invited to perform her song, ‘What if we’ at the Ukranian party and at the Greek-Cypriot party. Both parties were held at the Euroclub, the venue where all Eurovision artists, fans and press are gathering for their socialising moments, in Moscow.
Chiara performed the club mix of “What if we” at the Ukranian party, the website reports. Once again, the crowd went wild and everyone was singing and dancing to the clubby beats of the remixed version of her Eurovision 2009 entry. Later, she performed the actual Eurovision track, ‘What if we’ at the Greek-Cypriot party.
Chiara confessed that she was quite hesitant to perform the actual track at the Euroclub, due to its party atmosphere. However, she was overwhelmed when the crowd stayed focused on her performance and joined her with their singing and loud cheers when she hit the highest notes of her entry.
Chiara was given a surprise visit backstage by the Ukranian Eurovision 2004 winner, Ruslana. The two singers exchanged positive comments about each other. The Ukranian star spared beautiful words about the Maltese artist describing her as “one of the few remaining artists who performs her songs in such a unique way that makes her songs sound rich in music to the ears of all her listeners.”
Later on Chiara also met this year’s artists from Ukraine, Greece, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Bosnia and Andorra amongst others. Two-times Greek Eurovision singer, Sakis Rouvas said he considers Chiara as a true star whose career can go far beyond Eurovision.
Svetlana Loboda from Ukraine welcomed Chiara at the Ukrainian party, while both artists wished luck to each other for the contest.
Chiara seemed to have established a beautiful bond with the Cypriot artist, Christina Metaxa calling her ‘my child’. Amazingly enough, Christina told the local press in Moscow that she considers Chiara as her ‘Eurovision mother’ as she always gives her good advices how to face this year’s contest.
Chiara spent her Mother’s Day on Sunday 10th May taking her first excursion in Moscow. Together with the rest of the Maltese Delegation, she visited the Kremlin. Everyone noticed that the Maltese singer was very relaxed during this excursion and acted as a typical tourist…wearing large sunglasses and a white hat while taking photos and buying souvenirs for her dear ones who are supporting her from home.
On Monday the Maltese singer will be at the Olympic Arena to take part in two dress rehearsals of the first semifinal show, scheduled for Tuesday evening.
