The Migrants’ Solidarity Movement is organising a live concert, Riddimfusion, on Saturday 27th June 2009. For these last month Maltese, Sudanese, Congolese and Ethiopian musicians have been meeting and mixing different sounds and rhythms, which they will perform in this event.
The concert is going to take place at Lower Barraka Gardens. Doors will open at 7:30pm and the entrance fee is 5 euros. All money from the entrance fee will go to the musicians performing in the event.
The local band Brikkuni will play many of their songs, mixing them with rhythms from Sudan and the voice of Muhammad. The hip-hop band Sixth Simfoni will play with Solomon, from Congo and the Maltese DJ, Danjeli, will be performing with Mesfin from Ethiopia. The concert will also feature the band Hallata Ballata, made up of persons from Congo, Sudan and Malta, who will play traditional Maltese, Congolese and Sudanese music.
During the event there will be Eritrean, Somali and Palestinan food, together with NGO stands and an artistic exhibition.
