A photo taken by UEFA freelance photojournalist Domenic Aquilina in Istanbul, Turkey at the 2005 UEFA Champions League final, depicting Liverpool FC captain Stephen Gerrard holding aloft the coveted trophy, was chosen by T.E.A.M. Marketing AG – UEFA’s marketing partner for the UEFA Champions League – to represent English club Liverpool FC on a specially designed backdrop which will be present in the VIP Champions Club area at Anfield in all the matches which Liverpool FC will be playing in this season’s UEFA Champions League edition.

The image will be integrated on a backdrop that will be standing in the Champions Club for at least six clubs and at a maximum 32 clubs. The Champions Club usually has between 250 and 350 guests.

Domenic dedicates this image to his late nephew Daniel Aquilina, who passed away recently.
