Action for Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) is organizing Pink Day in Valletta on Saturday. This event is aimed at encouraging women of all ages to take care of their health.

The public will be urged to sign a petition to urge government to introduce the national breast screening programme.

ABCF committee members will be in Freedom Square in Valletta with plenty of blank petition forms. Anyone over the age of 18 can sign.

Jesper Bakery will provide muffins with a pink bow – a donation will make sure you get one of these delicious delights.

There are ways of making sure we stay in good health, including keeping fit. A fitness walk take place between 11am and midday. Fitness walkers will be asked to make a €5 donation towards ABCF. Each walker will be given a toning tube which will be used for fitness exercises that will be held at the Upper Barakka Gardens.

ABCF wants to work alongside both local organisations, such as the Breast Care Support Group, and international organisations such as the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), to find and fight some of the causes of breast cancer.

ABCF wants to improve the chances of survival – we want to improve the service for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Breast awareness merchandise will also be available for purchase at City Gate on Pink Day.
