Saturday afternoon saw the first rains after Santa Marija.

The isolated thunderstorms occurred mainly in the Cottonera area and east of Malta and were caused by an upper level trough passing over the central Mediterranean. There was heavy rainfall at times in these areas but it was shortlived.

Meanwhile, the weather is set to improve again on Sunday.
