The new 2009/2010 edition of the Yellow Pages is ready to be distributed around all of Malta and Gozo, offering the most complete ever local business directory service to the public in general.

This will be the 11th edition of the Yellow Pages which issued the very first fledgling edition way back in 1997. Since then the Yellow Pages have grown in size, content and improved quality, presently featuring some 20,000 companies offering goods or services or both around the Maltese Islands. This certainly contributes towards making the big yellow book a firm household and business necessity.

The publication of the Yellow Pages is backed by a company that is intent not only on offering a useful nation-wide information service but also on being supremely efficient whilst doing so. The book itself is created in an easy-to-use format and layout, and in addition Yellow Pages is also distributed in what has become a nation-wide record-beating campaign that is over and complete in 10 days flat.

Between 17th September and 1st October, local households and business premises will be invited to prepare for the arrival of the new copy heralded by a free delivery to every doorstep.

This is coupled by the usual and reliable pick-up service of all old copies of past editions of all directories. All the old copies collected from around Malta and Gozo are subsequently sent abroad to be recycled in a bid to contribute to national and international energy-saving measures. To date Yellow Pages have helped to recycle a total of 560 tonnes worth of paper – that is some 22 forty-foot-long containers’ worth of old directories which would have otherwise been burnt at the tip.

Several significant innovations herald this new edition of the Yellow Pages. The book is being complemented by new services that rope in mobile phone facilities so that mobile phone users will be able to access the full Yellow Pages’ information via their phone, wherever they may be, whether at home, or out and about. In addition, the practical and handy road maps usually supplied with the Yellow Pages will also be available on internet and thus accessible via both mobile phones and the web.

Another new inclusion in the services of the Yellow Pages will be on-line web and email links which bring listed companies directly within reach of those who need them even if a consultation with the book itself is not possible. This all leads to an overall and tangible coherence throughout all the communications systems and mediums available, making the Yellow Pages a holistic service around the clock.

Yellow Pages is also presently looking towards the possibility of helping both established and new product advertisers improve on the overall quality of services being advertised through the directory, by helping them create effective websites to complement their selling techniques.
