Two men killed in Swieqi traffic accident

Two men, a 65-year-old taxi driver and a 26-year-old Romanian, died in a traffic accident in Swieqi early Wednesday morning around 0530CEST.
According to a police report, the Romanian crashed into a Peugeot taxi coming from the opposite direction while driving an Audi along St Andrew’s Road towards St Julian’s.
The Romanian died on the spot while the taxi driver, who hails from Sliema, died a few hours later in Mater Dei hospital.
An inquiry is being led by magistrate Lawrence Quintano.
