Ebejer murderers jailed 30 years each
Posted on October 23rd, 2009
Two men who had killed Nazzarenu Ebejer in 1989 have been jailed for 30 years each after a trial by jury.
Carmelo Sant, who had pleaded guilty at the beginning of his trial, and George Pace shot and killed Nazzarenu Ebejer in April 1989 because they thought he was carrying a considerable amount of cash. This tuned out to be false.
Mr Justice Joe Galea Debono sentenced the two men to 30 years’ imprisonment each. Mr Sant was found guilty of the murder while Mr Pace was found guilty by the jury by 7 votes to 2 of being an accomplice in the crime but not of actually carrying out the murder.
