ogaemalta.com has reported that the Maltese national broadcaster, PBS, has revealed that the national final will be held on the 20th February 2010. The next Maltese Eurovision entry will be chosen via a 50% televoting and 50% jury-vote system. 20 entries will reach the final.

In the meantime, it has also been revealed that 123 songs were submitted for the Malta Eurosong 2010. Singers could not submit more than one entry each.

All 123 entries will be performed in front of an international jury during the first selection phase which will be held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th December. Thirty-six entries will be promoted to the next phase.

The 36 semifinalists will be performed once again in front of a separate jury. This round will be held on the 7th December. Additionally, L-ISFIDA will host six entries each for six consecutive weeks aired every Wednesday night. The juries together with televoting will select the 20 finalists out of the 36 semifinalists.
