In a statement on Monday, the board of directors and executive management of SmartCity said the Ground Breaking ceremony of Phase One was being postponed following the demise of the Prime Minister’s mother. Smartcity directors said they wanted to express their deepest sympathy with the Prime Minister and his family following the sad news of the passing away of the mother.

In the light of these events, SmartCity has decided to postpone the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Phase One of SmartCity Malta, planned for Tuesday 25th November 2008.
