‘A walk with a noble cause which will not only raise awareness towards the importance of health, but also help the institution which gives a daily contribute to society’, said Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said about the event ‘Imxi ghad-Dar Tal-Providenza’ during its launch in Siggiewi.

The local council for Siggiewi together with the Maltese Council for Sports and Parliamentary Secretary responsible for the local councils are organizing a 5-km walk on Sunday 23rd May in aid of Dar tal-Providenza. The walk will start at 9 a.m. from St Nicholas Square in Siggiewi.

Deputy Mayor Dr Karol Aquilina said that a €5 donation is the fee for participants to take part in the even. The money will go for the organisation which Maltese people are so fond of.

Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said said that there are many local councils organising events, however the Siggiewi local council is organising this event which will also be beneficiary for the organisation, which needs €13,000 daily.

The director of Dar tal-Providenza, Fr Martin Micallef, praised the initiative of the Siggiewi local council and said that at the end of the walk, around 10:30 am, mass will be celebrated outside the Dar tal-Providenza. There will also be transport before and after mass to the Siggiewi square.
