Technical fault causes power cut

Enemalta has reported that a technical fault at Delimara Power Station caused a 40-minute power cut on Monday in parts of Malta and Gozo.
At 17:38 CEST a technical fault developed in turbine one at Delimara Power Station. This turbine was carrying 55 Mw of the total 220 Mw at the time.
The load started to be restored immediately using the emergency gas turbines. Power was fully restored at 18:19 CEST, making the entire downtime close to 40 minutes. Enemalta apologised for any inconvenience caused.
