Volleyball: Men’s Qualification Group at Cottonera this weekend
After successfully organising the Ladies’ Qualification Group B last weekend, the Malta Volleyball Association will be organising the Men’s Qualification Tournament (Small Countries Division) as part of the Senior European Championships 2011, between 18th and 20th June 2010. This tournament, which will be played at the Cottonera Sports Complex, will eventually promote the two finalists to the Final Round which will be played in Andorra in 2011.
Malta will be facing Iceland, Luxembourg and San Marino during this Qualification Tournament. The Men’s national team is made up of the following players: Robert Balzan, Cedric Bondin, Gordon Cachia, Matthew Cumbo, Anatoly Gatt, Daniel Gauci, Keith Mifsud, Vince Pace, Josef Pirotta, Louis Scriha, Alex Spiteri, Malcolm St. John, Peter Testa, Paul Tonna, Paul Vella.
Local International Referee Nello Calleja has been assigned by the C.E.V. to officiate during these tournaments, together with other referees coming from all over Europe.
The Malta Volleyball Association would like to invite all volleyball enthusiasts as well as the general public to come over and support the local teams during this Tournament. The full schedule of matches is the following:
