Video: Pedestrian seriously injured in Coast road traffic accident
A pedestrian was seriously injured and three other foreign pedestrians were slightly injured in a traffic accident on Monday after being hit by a car driven by a 51-year-old man from Msida along the Coast Road at Bahar ic-Caghaq.
A 21-year-old man was seriously injured, while two women, aged 21 and 22 respectively and another man of 22, suffered slight injuries. None are in critical condition.
The police were informed that the accident occurred at 20:30 hrs CEST at Bahar ic-Caghaq Coast road limits of Naxxar. They were informed that some parties were injured, the police said.
The police reached the site and discovered that a 51-year-old man from Msida, driving from Bugibba to St Julians, had hit a group of eight pedestrians of foreign Nationality, causing injuries to the group of two women and two men, said the police.
The assistance of the Civil Protection Department was then required since two of the group had fallen a height of one storey off the road after being hit by the car.
The victims were rushed to Mater Dei hospital where they were treated. A person was arraigned in front of Magistrate Dr Micallef Trigona LLD, said the police.
