Drug trafficking busted in Gzira

Drug raids in Gzira lead to the arrest of a man and two women on Monday afternoon.
The police said in a statement that the residence of the 31-year-old, on Ponsomby Street in Gzira, was kept under surveillance after receiving a tip-off about drug trafficking. The following raid caught the man red-handed while preparing heroin for trafficking. A total of 32 packets were found.
In connection to the case the man’s 29-year-old girlfriend and another 22-year-old woman are kept under arrest the police revealed. The women are to be arrayed on the accusation of drug possession whereas the man is to be arrayed on the accusations of drug possession and trafficking.
Magistrate Dr E Grima LLD is leading further investigations.
