18 months jail for jewellery thief

23-year-old Clayton Fava from Żabbar was jailed for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to stealing jewellery from a home last April.
Besides stealing a gold necklace and ring, the accused also stole a Nikon camera and a laptop from a residence in Żabbar.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Kenneth Ellul from Paola was acquitted of stealing a large quantity of copper wire and other items worth over €2,333 from a scrapyard in Luqa after he was not sufficiently identifiable from footage taken by security cameras.
