Posted on October 19th, 2010
23-year-old Andre’ Borg from Naxxar was conditionally discharged for two years after he pleaded guilty to stealing jewellery from his mother’s home in Mellieha these past two months. The accused would steal the jewellery so as to sustain his drug addiction.
Meanwhile, two painters working at Enemalta’s gas distribution centre stole 190 empty gas cylinders. The men, Marvin Scicluna and George Frendo, both from Cospicua, pleaded guilty to the charges.
The men were granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000 each. The sentence will be delivered on Thursday, after Enemalta officials brief the Court of the cost of the stolen cylinders.
