Malta amongst lowest unemployment rate in EU

Malta has obtained the largest decrease in unemployment amongst all European Union (EU) member states, the Times reported on Friday.
In September the average unemployment rate in the Euro area has yet again registered an increase by 0.5 per cent when compared to 2009, reaching 10.1 per cent.
The Eurostat said that Malta has the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the EU with 6.2 per cent. When compared to 2009 the unemployment rate in Malta decreased from 7.2 to 6.2 per cent.
The lowest unemployment rate in September was registered in Netherlands with 4.4 per cent whereas the highest was observed in Spain with 20.8 per cent.
