Table Tennis Academy launches campaign to assist the Angela Bajada Fund
The Table Tennis Academy members, students and guests got together for their annual presentation dinner held at Vivaldi Golden Tulip Hotel. A presentation was prepared to outline the years’ successes amongst which were the following; an observation visit by England’s number three player Daniel Reed, coaches Owen Kelly from Ireland and Erik Nordlander from Sweden for the Summer School, and the introduction of video monitored coaching. Great results were registered in all National events in both Junior and Senior categories.
Mario Genovese Head Coach for the Academy also went on to say that the Academy will be introducing a competition that will be open to all local table tennis players in both Junior and Senior categories and all funds raised from this event will go towards the Angela Bajada Fund. In the name of the TTA committee, Mario went on to say that organisations such as the Academy have a moral obligation to help in social causes such as this. Further details will be announced shortly after the holiday recess.
The evening ended with the TTA’s annual awards and nominations with fifteen prizes being awarded to different categories. In the meantime the Academy will be launching a series of events to promote youngsters to start playing the fastest game in the world which is a thoroughbred Olympic sport.
