The Religious functions of the Centenary Celebrations year 1908 - 2008 ended on the 8th December 2008 at St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta.

Mass in honour of the Immaculate Conception was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Pascual Chavez, Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, together with all the Salesian Fathers led by Fr Paul Formosa, Provincial Delegate in Malta.

The Salesian Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade Band, led by Drum Major Leonard Falzon, saluted the guests on their arrival.

The President of Malta, Dr Edward Fenech Adami and Mrs Adami, together with the Apostolic Nunzio for Malta and the Bishop of Gozo were the guests of honour of the event.
