Air Malta rebrands aircraft to promote Valletta’s bid
Air Malta has re-branded one of its Airbus A320 aircraft to promote Valletta’s bid to become European Capital of Culture 2018. The aircraft was presented to the media today during an event hosted by the airline and the Valletta 2018 Foundation, who are championing the bid.
Before landing in Malta, the aircraft with registration 9H-AEO and with flight number KM2018 (which was specifically chosen to commemorate this event), performed a fly-past over the Luqa airfield. Upon landing, the aircraft was given a water cannon salute by two vehicles from MIA’s Fire-fighting Section that were parked on either side of the taxiway.
The new livery portrays along the fuselage the magnificent Valletta’s skyline with Baroque art designs at each end. The text ‘Valletta European Capital of Culture 2018 Candidate City’ in red is also carried on the aircraft’s fuselage.
