The Malta Carnival 2009, which is organized by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, will be held between the 20th and 24th of February in the streets and squares of Valletta and Floriana.

The programme includes a Carnival Dancing Competitions at Freedom Square, Valletta on February 20.

On Saturday the ‘Children’s Carnival’ will be organized at Freedom Square, Valletta during the morning and afternoon; followed with a Carnival Band parade and parties in the late afternoon.

On Sunday 22, a selection of the Carnival Dancing Competitions will perform at Freedom Square, Valletta, in Merchant Street, St. John’s Street and Republic Street.

A carnival street parade and a dancing competitions will be held at Freedom Square, Valletta on the following date.

The Gran Finale will be held at St. Anne’s Street, Floriana at 1730 on February 24.
