IAA Malta will be giving individuals in the advertising industry the opportunity to attend a seminar by Daniela Krautsack, an international expert in media innovation, on 19th February.

Daniela Krautsack is a director of Cows In Jackets, an agency specializing in unconventional communications, which is based in Vienna. Her global search for unconventional ways of communicating in the 21st century – what she calls the ‘5th Screen’ - has made her a regular speaker at Cannes Lions and other top international marketing events. Her ambient media work and field research during the last decade has also been channeled into a TV documentary film which was recently broadcasted on Austrian Television.

As advertisers are well aware, despite the multitude of marketing communications tools now available, their messages may go unnoticed by target markets. The increased use of outdoor media may mean such media are becoming less effective in reaching their aim. It is therefore crucial for communications to be as engaging as possible in order to get desired messages across.

This seminar, which will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, St Julian’s, will provide the opportunity to enjoy an audio-visual presentation about the future of communications and global media strategies through the use of non conventional media. International examples will demonstrate how hi-tech inventions, such as tasteless sweets with the ability to create mental images, or outdoor textiles that absorb light and thereby turn invisible, metamorphose into marketing strategies that fit society’s media savvy needs.

Commented Ray Grech, Chapter President IAA Malta: ‘IAA considers it a priority to promote a growing community of diverse, talented and dedicated individuals throughout the industry. The IAA accomplishes this goal by encouraging an extensive range of professional development seminars and other training programs for agency professionals at all levels. Our 2009 Seminar should be of interest to anyone from the highest-level agency executive to students considering a career in advertising’.
