In a statement on Monday afternoon, the Malta Labour Party once again alleged that the case of hacking of email at MITTS is one of “political and commercial espionage” and that Minister Austin Gatt’s comments at this stage of investigations, whereby he called the allegations a “pack of lies”, are inappropriate.

On Monday, Gatt issued another statement where he once again said that the allegations were unfounded speculation.

The MLP stated that this is unacceptable as such comments compromise police investigations. The minister’s comments could also be considered unacceptable pressure on the police investigations, the MLP said, as Gatt was rubbishing very serious allegations that were still being investigated.
