A Birkirkara man has been jailed for 9 years after he was found guilty of raping a 10-year-old girl.

The man, 61, who used to share the same house of the girl’s mother, repeatedly showed pornographic movies to the girl. The young girl reported the case to Appogg’s helpline and spoke to the school headmistress and counselling staff at school.

The court ordered that names should not be published in the interests of the victim.
