Chiara to sing during Easter Monday opening of BJs live music marathon
Malta’s Eurovision star Chiara will be the first singer to take part in BJs live music marathon this year due to get underway on Easter Monday in Paceville.
This is the 20th edition of the marathon, which has so far raised more than 290,000 euro for charity. It is the marathon’s tradition to have the year’s Eurovision representative opening the event but this year Chiara will also be joined by runner-up Eleanor Cassar.
The event will start on Monday at 5 p.m. and live music of all genres will be played non-stop until April 20, including classic rock, blues, jazz, folk and pop.
The annual event had first started as a nightlong activity and later developed into a 100-hour marathon. Due to its popularity it was extended to a week-long marathon in the last years.
The money collected this year will go towards Wishing Others Well (WOW), which is the social arm of the Millennium Chapel in Paceville and supports people in need.
The event will be inaugurated by President George Abela while other distinguished guests will be in attendance.
Donations can be made at the door or through text messages on Vodafone and Go mobile numbers on 5061 8068 for donations of 4.66 euro, 5061 8911 for 6.99 euro and 5061 9201 for 11.65 euro.
